The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is a multi-division department within the UNM School of Medicine. We provide excellent, innovative education to residents, medical students, and health professionals; the highest quality mental health care to the citizens of New Mexico; and pursue outstanding multidisciplinary research that helps solve important health problems.

The Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH), within the broader Department of Psychiatry, is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CBH is to address behavioral health care disparities through: health services research and evaluation; training and workforce development; and through increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic, cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures and communities.

CBH is seeking a Program Manager to support senior leadership as they develop, implement and improve sustainable programs and systems. This position will provide executive administrative support, will serve as project manager at various stages on new and ongoing projects, will assist with grant and manuscript development and serve as a partner liaison when requested. This position will assist with Division marketing, including website development and maintenance, human resources and recruitment, policy creation and implementation, training and support Division-wide. Specific duties include: providing administrative oversight, training, compliance and continuity; team meeting facilitation; developing program databases, metrics, tracking systems, scheduling and logistics tools; assisting with programmatic administrative activities, systems and fiscal management; assisting with human resources submissions and tracking documents, recruitment and retention planning; assisting with contracts and grants as needed; assist with information dissemination and report writing, and more.

This is a high-energy position with tremendous responsibility that requires: programmatic vision; integrity and professionalism; the ability to see the big picture and attend to smaller details; resourcefulness, responsiveness and flexibility; superb organizational skills and oral and written communication/ relationship building skills are required. Demonstrated management, implementation and positive supervision experience is required. This position requires both independent and team work, extensive video-conferencing, and minimal in-state travel (when permitted). This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.

Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

*       Extensive program management and implementation experience

*       Demonstrated human resources knowledge and supervision experience

*       Excellent oral and written communication skills, professional writing/manuscript development/website development experience. Publications and grant writing experience is preferred.

*       Community partner experience and experience working with UNM systems and internal organizations, including experience navigating administrative and financial components
