The Genesys Cloud Kafka Team provides infrastructure and services used by the entirety of the Genesys Cloud platform. Every microservice within the platform depends on our tier-0 mission-critical services. We build scalable, fault tolerant, and self-healing services that maintain high availability even when faced with simultaneous multiple failures at various levels. We deliver low latent services built to withstand high throughput usage patterns on the platform.

What you will be doing:

• Implementing Kafka-related libraries, tooling, and automation that supports the Kafka clusters used by all services in Genesys Cloud.
• Working directly with other teams in Genesys Cloud on Kafka-related implementations and solutions
• Implementing high-throughput event streaming microservices in Java
• Reviewing AVRO schemas

Required skills:

• Experience developing event-driven microservices using Java 8+ and Spring.
• Experience building applications on Amazon Web Services
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling: Jenkins, Git, Docker
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

• Experience with performance tuning RHEL-based Linux distributions
• Experience working with ZooKeeper and implementing solutions using Apache Curator
• Experience using Burrow or Cruise Control
• Experience with Infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or Ansible
• Knowledge of Python or Go programming languages
• Experience with Amazon Kinesis or MSK
• Experience writing serverless code using Python or Java and AWS Lambda

Market competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range of $96,850 - $201,150. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
