Requisition ID req23438 Working Title Plumber 2 Position Grade 10 Position Summary UNM's Facilities Management (FM) has a great opportunity for an experienced plumber to join our FM Area 4 team. The qualified candidate will perform independent preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on plumbing and gas systems.
FM Area 4 is responsible for the care and upkeep of the oldest and newest buildings on campus. Our area of responsibility has over 2 million square feet of interior space that includes Biology, Engineering and Fine Arts spaces as well as offices and classrooms.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of trades experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Possession of a current New Mexico Journeyman Plumber's License.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • New Mexico Gas Fitters License (JPG)
  • Prior experience working in a commercial environment.
  • Proven experience keeping excellent/accurate maintenance records using a personal touch screen mobile device (I-Pad).
