JOB SUMMARY: Medical Lab Tech will perform lab functions related to COVID-19 testing. They will use various machines, test methods, and other skills to complete the tasks required by Claremore Indian Hospital Laboratory department.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

The medical lab techs will:

• Perform a variety of routine tests and laboratory procedures in a medical laboratory for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease which include, but are not limited to:
  • Urinalyses
  • Clinical chemistry test
  • Blood counts
  • Perform analytic tests
• Prepare chemical reagent stains and solutions for automated equipment
• Prepare specimens
• Prepare tissue samples for study by another staff member
• Make preliminary identification of bacterial cultures subject to review by a supervisor
• Maintains laboratory stock of chemicals and glassware
• Collect specimens from patients.
• Answer the telephone, record and relay messages and/or redirect calls as necessary.
  • Will refer urgent messages as necessary for immediate action
• Will be required to utilize the computer and programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
