The University of New Mexico's College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking a HS Research Tech 3. This is a Full-Time, 1.0 FTE, Benefits Eligible position.
The lab currently studies structural-dynamic-functional relationship of proteins. This position requires attention to detail and ability to develop and follow scientific protocols accurately and reproducibly. The successful candidate will demonstrate practical knowledge in one or more fields such as molecular biology, biochemistry and/or mass spectrometry. The candidate will have experience with scientific research methodology, the ability to collect and process research data, and to accurately record and report findings. The candidate will be required to maintain detailed laboratory records including lab notebooks, equipment logs, and internal purchasing request records and will organize data for presentations, reports, and publications. Research will be conducted according to written protocols under detailed and controlled research parameters in a health sciences laboratory setting. The scope of the research consists of a variety of procedures including protein purification/extraction/digestion, SDS PAGE, tissue homogenization, solid phase extraction.
Routine responsibilities include:
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
