The Counselor Education Program within the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of New Mexico offers both master's and doctoral degrees that are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The master's degree requires a minimum of 60 semester credit hours and is offered in clinical mental health counseling and school counseling areas of focus. Completion of the degree meets the preparatory standards for eligibility in New Mexico as either a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) or a certified school counselor.

The University of New Mexico College of Education and Human Sciences, Department of Individual Family and Community Education invites applicants to apply for the Temporary Part-Time Faculty position. The position may commence as early as August 2023 but shall remain open until filled.

The UNM College of Education and Human Sciences is comprised of five academic departments, is a future-oriented, dynamic professional school organized to reflect the following values: Advocacy, Building Professional Identities, Collaboration, Building School/University Partnerships, Diversity and Social Justice, Interdisciplinary Inquiry/Scholarship, and Teaching, Learning and Leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned Master's degree in Counseling, or closely related field, by the appointed start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

Qualified professional who has completed all requirements except the dissertation for the terminal degree or a terminal degree by appointment/or application date with specialization in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP accredited program, or have related doctoral degrees and have been employed as full-time faculty members in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
