Applications must include: 1. A signed letter of application that addresses listed qualifications 2. A detailed curriculum vita including a list of courses or subject areas previously taught or within the candidate's ability to teach, as well as prior scholarship activities including presentations and publications. 3. Unofficial transcripts of undergraduate and graduate coursework. 4. A statement on diversity which demonstrates how the candidate will mentor/advise underrepresented populations and what role will be played to enrich the campus culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. Quarterfinalists will be asked to submit the following materials: 1. Names, titles, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of 3-5 professional references. 2. A PDF containing links to a recent (within the last five years) 30-minute digital video of candidate teaching an elementary general music education methods course. 3. A teaching philosophy statement which includes pedagogical methods for music students, and strategies for recruiting and retaining quality students. Semifinalists will be asked to participate in a 30-minute phone or video interview and references will be contacted. Finalists will be invited to campus where they will: 1. Interview with the Search Committee, the Chair of the Department of Music, and the Dean of the College of Fine Arts. 2. Teach a 30-minute elementary general music lesson to music education majors. 3. Give a research presentation. 4. Teach an elementary general music lesson to elementary students at an Albuquerque Public Schools school. 5. Meet with UNM faculty, staff and students.
