Responsibilities

  • Assists pharmacists in various pharmaceutical activities to include the preparation and distribution of medications, the maintenance of drug inventory, patient records and financial records. Works only under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

  • Performs clerical functions such as entering data, filing and answering telephones.

  • Maintains adequate stock of medication and supplies according to established policies and procedures.

  • Interacts with patients in a professional, courteous and customer friendly manner.

  • Assists pharmacists with validating patient demographic information and medication profiles. Processes medication orders as requested

  • Collects and maintains data, conducts quality monitors, logs, records and other required documentation as assigned.

  • Attends departmental meetings and maintains competencies and/or certification

  • Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.

  • Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to "service".


Qualifications

Position Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or equivalent training
  • NM Board of Pharmacy registration upon date hired; or register within 10 (ten) days of hire with Pharmacist in Charge signature
  • NM Board of Pharmacy approved Certification obtained within six (6) months from date of hire
  • IV Certification or must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Position Requirements

  • Six (6) months of related experience
