Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transportation Market Leader to spearhead our growth initiatives in the Puget Sound Region. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and executing market strategies, ensuring regional visibility, and driving new business and client growth. As the primary champion of market growth, the Transportation Market Leader will also serve as a Client Team Leader, overseeing and supporting other team leaders within the market.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Market Strategy:
    • Collaborate with Client Team Leaders to formulate and execute comprehensive market strategies.
    • Determine strategic resource allocation and assess market technology trends.
  2. Sales Forecasting and Coordination:
    • Perform regional sales forecasting and coordinate long-term net fee forecasts with Client Team Leaders.
    • Manage and monitor business development spending in the market.
  3. Principal-in-Charge/Project Manager:
    • Serve as the principal-in-charge and project manager, ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  4. Client Team Support:
    • Support Client Team Leaders by meeting with clients when a more senior presence is required.
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management for Client Team Leaders.
  5. Recruitment and Retention:
    • Engage in recruiting efforts to attract top talent to DEA.
    • Implement retention strategies to foster staff longevity.
  6. Regional Sales Management:
    • Take responsibility for regional sales results, driving market growth and achieving business development goals.
    • Manage business development costs in the market effectively.

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Urban and Regional Planning
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Washington or AICP certified
  • 10+ years in transportation with a focus on roadway, highway, transit, or bridge projects
  • Proven track record of transportation project wins in the Puget Sound region
  • Project experience with WSDOT, Sound Transit, and/or other local agencies
