GENERAL DUTIES:

  1. Maintain a valid Washington State Food Worker Card
  2. Be responsible for the spiritual welfare of the Kitchen Staff and participating in daily meetings reserved for sharing what's on our hearts and minds.
  3. Lead VIP campers with table set up and cleaning.
  4. Operate with the kitchen staff as one team.
  5. Lead dining hall staff with cleaning and preparation for next meal.
  6. Stock and replenish the snack table and coffee bar as needed.
  7. Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.
  8. Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
  9. Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the end of the summer.
  10. Prepare and deliver the Dining Hall Lead Maintenance camp brief at the end of the summer.
  11. Assist with evening cabin supervision
  12. Participate with the meal count for USDA at the start of each meal time.
  13. Ensure that the Staff Kitchen and snack table is kept clean, stocked and well managed.
  14. Be an appropriate & effective example for both campers and staff members, exhibiting Christ-like conduct, concern, and service.
  15. Report any suspected child abuse issues to the Assistant Camp Administrator and take necessary actions to report it properly.
  16. Report general property maintenance issues to Food Service Manager
  17. Be present and participate in camp wide evening Programs
  18. Any other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or Camp Administrator.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Safety and Supervision

  1. Enforce camp policies and procedures
  2. Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times.
  3. Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times.
  4. Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion.

WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare daily cleaning assignments and duties.
  2. Ensure cleanliness of Dining Hall is maintained working alongside the Dining Hall Maintenance person.
  3. Make sure Coffee bar is always cleaned and stocked. Delegate this responsibility when needed.
  4. Facilitate dining hall cleaning, sanitizing, and set up for next meal.
  5. Be responsible for meal counts and supervision in support of USDA guidelines.
  6. Report meal counts to Office Manager.
  7. Prepare and assign kitchen staff to serve camper and staff snack when needed.
  8. Meet with program directors and Food Service Manager at beginning of each session to plan for special events requiring food service.
  9. Meet with program directors and Food Service Administrator at beginning of each session to plan for special events requiring food service.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  2. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead.
  3. Ability to operate telephone.
  4. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.
  5. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  6. Ability to access and produce information from a computer.
  7. Ability to understand written information.
