Position Summary |
Note: The For Best Consideration Date has been extended to 5/1/2024. The Department of Special Education is seeking a Coordinator, Academics to work with our graduate programs. The Department of Special Education graduate programs include: Master of Art (Two Concentrations), Graduate Certificates (ASD, BCBA, EDAG), Ed.S Certificate, and PhD. A successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage time, communicate effectively, pay attention to detail, and possess superior customer service skills. Duties include: - Coordinating the various daily activities associated with several graduate academic programs and serves as liaison to the graduate student support services throughout the University.
- Working closely with Dept Administrator in the day-to-day academic, administrative, and operational activities of the department.
- Monitoring and support student academic progress and compliance with departments and university rules.
- Collaborate with faculty and graduate students to ensure timely program completion.
- Assist faculty and students with Program/University admissions, degree completion, and graduation paperwork and processes. Proctor comprehensive exams.
- Maintain records and upkeep relating to students, including files, databases, and listservs.
- Prepare letters, information packets, and electronic documents to support group and/or individual recruitment efforts, participate in individual/group recruitment, orientation, and other student events.

Conditions of Employment |

Minimum Qualifications |
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Preferred qualification include: - Experience working within UNM or another academic environment with administrative support tasks.
- Strong customer service skills/ability to manage deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong data analysis experience/ability to research issues.
- Experience
working with confidential information and proficiency and accuracy for
detail in organizing and maintaining files and records.
- Experience working in Banner, OnBase, AppReview, or other higher education platforms.
