OVERVIEW:

The role of the summer assistant is to be an advocate and liaison for summer camp at Camp Redwood Glen. This includes promotion, advertisement, registration and transportation. At all times this role should keep within the mission and vision of The Salvation Army.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote and advertise for summer camp, through social media sites, flyers throughout the community, and in-person events
  • Communicate with parents of campers/potential and promote a positive camp experience
  • Utilizing the camper software (Citrix), ensure all assigned camp spots are filled and camper applications are complete and on time
  • Coordinate transportation for all registered campers
  • Follow-up with campers and their families, post-camp
  • Keep a log/database of the follow-ups
  • Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • CA driver's license (required)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to lead

EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (Usually file boxes)
