Description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Financial Controller - Aviation, day-to-day reporting directly to the VP Maintenance in San Marcos, TX while also serving as part of the corporate accounting department. The role will interface with operatives and leaders across multiple departments, including but not limited to ODC, Government Services, FBO, Accounting, Finance, and IT.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide actual vs budget reporting as required for various maintenance workorders, CAPEX tracking/spending/department labor and expenses.
  • Research and investigate all work order and parts, outside services, and labor reporting issues. Work with Supply Chain Manager to implement corrective actions.
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly reporting on maintenance department activities.
  • Conduct month end processes including balancing the perpetual inventory to the general ledger, reconciliations, and management reports.
  • Assist in gathering data for obsolete inventory calculations.
  • Monitor and or assist with cycle count process, use results to identify improvements.
  • Assist in the capturing and reporting of aircraft maintenance c-checks and other inspections.
  • Provide support for inventory movement amongst locations and prepare applicable inventory roll forwards for selected locations.
  • Document and intercompany inventory transactions between Berry affiliated companies.
  • Analyze Direct Labor, Contract Labor, and Overhead Labor and related utilization.
  • Document controls, processes and procedures related to purchasing, receiving, and usage of inventory by location by lot number.
  • Review and assist in MRO commercial and government pricing quotes
  • Ensure and review both commercial and government MRO billings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Create projects in NetSuite to capture revenue, costs and profitability.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong business skills and effective understanding of purchasing, inventory, work orders and shop floor control.
  • Ability to understand the aircraft maintenance environment and the associated financial implications.
  • Strong ability to assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant data.
  • Ability to effectively analyze transactional level detail in an enterprise resource planning environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and drive actions to completion under strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to collaborate and build positive relations with other teams with Finance, IT, etc.
  • General accounting understanding.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This role has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach, mentor, and lead for other positions in the department.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

  • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shift may change in accordance with department and business needs. The hours may be different if agreed with direct supervisor. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require.

Travel

  • Travel requirements are: less than 10%

Required Education and Experience

  • Education: BA in Finance or Accounting. Combined experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word

Preferred Experience

  • Experience:
    • Aviation and/or manufacturing inventory and work order control environment
    • Job costing experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance
  • Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
