Summary

Accomplish the full range of aircrew academic and simulator instruction in the UH-1N aircraft and mission sets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Provide formal aircrew academic and simulator training to officer and enlisted initial qualification, requalification, instructor upgrade, and key staff students to conduct combat search and rescue missions utilizing NVG low level flight, helicopter aerial refueling operations, alternate insertion and extraction methods, emergency procedures training, systems instruction, instrument flight, and tactical operations.
  • Provide academic and simulator refresher training to qualified officer and enlisted world-wide UH-1N aircrew members.
  • Assist in the development of and ensuring the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process is correctly applied to all UH-1N courseware

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate degree or equivalent
  • Current as a Pilot in the UH-1N within the previous two years; or within the previous 8 years if the candidate has performed 8 years of military operational flying duty at the time of hire with at least two years or 200 hours experience as in in-flight instructor in the UH-1N.
  • Candidates will be subject to frequent written and performance evaluations to levels of expert knowledge and instructional ability.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to work varying shifts, weekend, and in outdoors conditions as required
  • Applicants will be subject to a US Government security investigation and must be able to obtain/maintain the required security clearance (Secret)

Preferred skills

  • Community College of the Air Force qualification and formal training on instructor methodologies and curriculum development.
  • Over 2000 hours in the UH-1N
  • Over 100 hours of Night Vision Goggle time
  • Over 500 hours of instructor time

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This position will also require the individual to use the following tools, equipment, or programs frequently: Computers, scanners, printers and Microsoft products such as (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.); Computer productivity tools to include word processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, project management, and databases.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A breakdown of estimated working conditions includes walking, standing, climbing, working in cramped or confined spaces, sitting, crouching or kneeling, using hands/arms to grasp, push, pull or reach, using hands/fingers to type, talking, listening, working with fumes, vibration, poor ventilation and oscillating moving parts. Position may require regular lifting or moving of 10 lbs., frequent lifting of 25 lbs. and occasional lifting of 50 lbs.

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
