The BizOps (Business Operations) team supports our Product Engineering organization for our Accounting, Tax, Practice & Audit business within Thomson Reuters. Our goal in BizOps is to help the organization run smoothly by providing budget management, strategic planning, and decision support while also driving department initiatives forward.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Business Operations Manager, you will:

  • Manage day-to-day internal operational needs of the team while focusing on department effectiveness and contributing to financial portfolio management, department engagement, and ad-hoc project management

  • Collaborate and work across organizational boundaries with key business partners, including: BizOps team members, Finance, HR, Product Engineering Chief of Staff, and Tech Leadership

  • Succeed in a dynamic work environment where priorities change based on current business needs

  • Proactively drive best practices, deliver a holistic view of the status and health of our portfolio, interpret data, and provide guidance and decision support where needed

  • Emphasis will be placed on attention to detail, financial knowledge, reporting capabilities, communication, process improvement, and project management

Core Job Functions:

(70%) Financial Portfolio Management & Administration responsibilities could span the following areas:

  • Capital & expense forecasting and budget management

  • Tracking product plan spend & performance

  • Financial analysis

  • Leadership report-out

  • Resource forecasting and budgeting

  • Knowledge sharing, coaching, and training

(20%) Department Engagement responsibilities could span the following areas:

  • Department communications, newsletters, and surveys

  • Coordinating department meetings, events, and agendas

  • Facilitating department-wide initiatives

  • OKR planning

  • Process Improvement

(10%) Miscellaneous project management and other administrative tasks would be handled ad-hoc and upon request.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Business Operations Manager if your background includes:

  • Minimum 5-7 years work experience in Finance, Strategic Planning, Business Operations, or Project Management related fields

  • College degree in related field (preferred)

  • Financial acumen, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Entrepreneurial approach, innovative, passionate, self-starter

  • Ability to make independent decisions and out of the box thinking

  • Proven advanced skill and experience with Excel and Power BI

  • Ability to understand business needs/requirements, which translates into solid program governance and execution of processes in line with business outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels within the company across all functions with a team-oriented style

  • Collaborative in nature with excellent communication and organizational skills
