Join the dynamic team at the University of New Mexico's Prevention Research Center (PRC) as a Unit Administrator 1. The PRC is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Center of Excellence and has been funded since 1994. The PRC serves as the umbrella for multiple extramurally funded projects and must compete for grants and contracts to maintain stability. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives aimed at promoting the health and well-being of children and families. Key Responsibilities:

Program Coordination: Coordinate research initiatives, community outreach programs, and educational activities related to pediatric prevention and population sciences.

Liaison Duties: Serve as the primary liaison for the Center to both internal agencies (Pediatrics, HR, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Payroll, Facilities Management, Security, University Collaborators (HSC and Main Campus), and other University services as necessary) and external agencies (communities, schools, funding agencies, partners).

Financial Management: Oversee budget planning, financial forecasting, and expenditure monitoring to ensure efficient resource utilization.

Personnel Management: Supervise and mentor staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Grant Management: Assist in grant proposal development, submission, and post-award administration to support research endeavors.

Data Analysis: Collaborate with researchers to analyze data and evaluate program outcomes, contributing to evidence-based practices in pediatric healthcare.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 1 year of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Have HR experience (staff, students, independent contractors, term memos, LoboWeb)
  • Have experience/training in the following UNM systems (Banner, Accounts Payable, pcard, LoboMart)
  • Familiar with UNM Space Database (FAMIS), equipment inventory, space/telephone assignments, serve as building security/coordinator
  • Familiar with all aspects of payroll, Kronos/LoboTime timekeeping
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
