Leidos is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a strong GPS, Radio Frequency (RF), and SATCOM background. The SME will support a large, multi-year contract providing Timing and Synchronization services to Department of Defense. The work that's being done on this contract is extremely important and offers its team members the opportunity to work autonomously and explore new technologies. *Please note - the candidate hired must live close and be able to commute to the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area. This is a 50% remote position.*

The SME should demonstrate extensive experience in radio frequency RF, SATCOM, and other related technologies. This individual will support high priority and high visibility implementation projects in support of a very large, high-profile Timing and Sync Program. The Timing & Sync Tier III SME will be responsible for providing full support to the customer on multiple, simultaneous tasks.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the operation & testing of legacy T&S equipment (e.g., legacy GPS receivers, T&S distribution devices).
  • Prepare Technical Manuals for T&S stakeholders to operate & maintain the T&S system.
  • Provide T&S training for various resources as requested by the Government PM.
  • Support Fleet Readiness Certification Board (FRCB) submissions in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the Timing Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing expertise and guidance on timing-related aspects within the organization's projects or systems.
  • Analyze and evaluate timing requirements and constraints for projects, identifying potential timing issues or challenges and proposing solutions to mitigate risks for new and existing T&S systems.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates technical documentation such as enterprise architecture, application/system design, and network architecture and design.
  • Attends meeting on-site as needed to meet mission objectives and assists with leading technical working groups.
  • Support development of Engineering and Systems design documentation and Engineering Implementation Plans.
  • Track hardware, software, architecture changes to drive updates to design documentation and other deliverables. Provide content and guidance for training products.
  • Supports systems development, technical planning, development, integration, and verification and validation.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience with, at least, 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with RF, SATCOM, Timing sources, and related technologies
  • Willingness to travel on occasion as mission dictates to ensure successful implementation.
  • US Citizen with an active DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.

Pay Range:Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
